The articulated arm manipulator from Zeilhofer Handhabungstechnik is a lifting aid for the pendulum-free handling of loads up to 800 kg with a working radius of up to 4.5 meters. It is controlled pneumatically or electro-pneumatically; the stroke reaches up to approx. 2,100 mm and, like the radius, is designed for each project. It is available in four mounting options: stationary or mobile, each for floor or ceiling mounting. All versions have a load capacity of up to 800 kg; they differ in boom length. The rigid load guidance prevents swinging and enables millimeter-precise positioning. It costs from approx. €12,000 net, is manufactured in Holzkirchen with a custom-designed fixture and is delivered 15 to 25 weeks after order, depending on complexity.

02 MOBILE ON THE FLOOR - Mobile via forklift or pallet truck, without ceiling penetration
In this version, the articulated arm manipulator is mounted on a stable base plate. The entire unit is mobile and can be flexibly transported to the work site using a pallet truck, electric pallet jack, or forklift.

03 What does pendulum-free load guidance mean?
The load cannot swing or deflect, as can happen with cable or chain systems. The rigid articulated arm guides the load firmly at all times and also absorbs torques and off-center loads. This enables millimeter-precise positioning.
04 Which mounting option suits my hall?
There are four versions: stationary or traversing, each on the floor or on the ceiling or steel structure. All carry up to 800 kg. Floor versions need no ceiling load capacity, ceiling versions keep the floor clear. On a base plate, the manipulator can be moved by forklift.
05 How is the articulated arm manipulator powered?
Pneumatically or electro-pneumatically, up to 800 kg in both cases. Pneumatic control balances the load intuitively and robustly; electro-pneumatic control additionally enables semi- and fully automated processes and PLC integration.
06 Which fixtures are available for the articulated arm manipulator?
Every system gets its own custom-designed fixture: grippers, suction cups, magnets, mandrels for inside gripping or combinations. The fixture determines safety and cycle time and is the biggest price factor.
07 What is the delivery time?
Depending on the complexity of the fixture, delivery takes 15 to 25 weeks from order, including design and pre-acceptance in Holzkirchen.
08 Can I lease an articulated arm manipulator?
Yes. Through Würth Leasing, leasing over 24, 36 or 48 months and hire purchase over 12 to 48 months are possible. We do not offer rental.
09 Articulated arm or cable manipulator: which fits better?
The articulated arm manipulator guides loads up to 800 kg rigidly and handles off-center loads. The cable manipulator guides the load via two wire ropes and is lighter and faster, but carries up to 150 kg. For heavy or bulky parts with a defined position, the articulated arm is the right choice.
10 Does an articulated arm manipulator have to be inspected annually?
Yes. In Germany, manipulators are subject to annual inspection under DGUV Regulation 54 and the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV). Zeilhofer carries out these inspections for its own systems and for other makes.
