The ZH3 multi-axis module from Zeilhofer Handling Technology is a compact rotary and drive module for precise positioning and rotational movements in space. It delivers a nominal torque of 250 Nm, absorbs a radial force of up to 1,200 N, and an axial force of up to 1,000 N. The module is not a lifting device and has no load-bearing capacity; it moves and positions tools, gripping systems, or screwdrivers. It can be driven pneumatically, electropneumatically, or electrically.
Typical applications include rotating a fixture into a desired position and mounting a screwdriver, whose rotation is guided by the ZH3 and whose reaction torque it absorbs. The module operates pneumatically, electropneumatically, or electrically and can be directly loaded with tools via the hollow shaft.
The ZH3 is designed as an extension for Zeilhofer's handling systems. It adds a driven rotary axis to lifting axes, manipulators, and lifting aids, transforming a handling device into a combined motion and processing solution. The ZH3 can learn, maintain, and readjust a predefined position without any programming. It is manufactured at the Holzkirchen site in Bavaria.
