PRODUCT COMPARISON

13 product lines in direct comparison: Which model is right for your component?

You already know you need a lifting aid and now want to compare two specific models? That's exactly what this page is for: a direct spec-by-spec comparison of all 13 series from Zeilhofer Handling Technology according to load capacity, working radius, drive, control and assembly.

CHAPTER 1
All 13 models sorted by load capacity

  • Lifting axle ZH90 = 1,200 kg

  • Joint manipulator 800 = 800 kg

  • Joint manipulator 500 = 500 kg

  • Joint manipulator 300 = 300 kg

  • Joint manipulator 200 = 200 kg

  • Lifting axis ZH90 Flex-Arm = 200 kg

  • Rope manipulator Acer 150 = 150 kg

  • Joint manipulator 100 = 100 kg

  • Lifting lift ZH = 100 kg

  • Joint manipulator 80 = 80 kg

  • Ferax manipulator = 80 kg

  • Rope manipulator ZH70 = 70 kg

  • Rope manipulator Acer 55 = 55 kg

CHAPTER 2

The six joint manipulator sizes in detail

The articulated manipulator is the only series with six graduated sizes – a direct comparison is most worthwhile here, as the load capacity and working radius differ significantly from size to size:

  • Articulated manipulator 80 – up to 80 kg, working radius up to 3.1 m

  • Articulated manipulator 100 – up to 100 kg, working radius up to 4.0 m

  • Articulated manipulator 200 – up to 200 kg, working radius up to 4.5 m

  • Articulated manipulator 300 – up to 300 kg, working radius up to 4.5 m

  • Articulated manipulator 500 – up to 500 kg, working radius up to 4.0 m

  • Articulated manipulator 800 – up to 800 kg, working radius up to 4,500 mm

CHAPTER 3

Hub axle, rope manipulator, lifting lift and Ferax compared

  • Lifting axis ZH90 – up to 1,200 kg, linearly guided, rigid and pendulum-free

  • ZH90 Flex-Arm lifting axis – up to 200 kg, 4,000 mm working radius, pendulum-free

  • Acer 150 cable manipulator – up to 150 kg, working radius up to 4.0 m, rail-mounted

  • Cable manipulator ZH70 – up to 70 kg, rail-mounted

  • Acer 55 rope manipulator – up to 55 kg, working radius up to 4.0 m

  • Lifting platform ZH – up to 100 kg, mobile floor trolley, 48V battery, no rail system required

  • Ferax manipulator – up to 80 kg, parallelogram lever movement, working radius 3.5–4.0 m

CHAPTER 4
Control system and device – briefly explained

All 13 series are available with balancing, safety or automatic control (pneumatic, electropneumatic or electric) and can be equipped with gripping, suction, magnetic or hook devices, screwdrivers and screw spindles as well as special devices.

FAQ / Q&A
Frequently asked questions about model comparison

01 Which lifting aid is suitable for loads over 500 kg?

For loads over 500 kg, the ZH90 lifting axis (up to 1,200 kg) or the 800 articulated manipulator (up to 800 kg) are suitable. The ZH90 lifting axis offers rigid, pendulum-free vertical guidance, while the 800 articulated manipulator provides a larger horizontal working radius with swiveling motion.

02 What distinguishes the six joint manipulator sizes from each other?

The number in the name indicates the maximum load capacity: from 80 kg to 800 kg. As the size increases, so does the working radius, from 3.1 m for the 80 kg version to 4.5 m for the 200 kg and 300 kg sizes. The control and assembly concept remains the same across all six sizes.

03 Which model works without a compressed air connection?

The ZH lifting platform is the only series that operates entirely on battery power with a 48-volt lithium-ion battery and requires no compressed air connection. All other series are primarily pneumatic or electropneumatic.

04 How do joint manipulators and cable manipulators differ in load guidance?

The articulated manipulator guides the load rigidly via a hinged mechanism, ideal for precise, tilt-proof positioning. The cable manipulator guides the load along a double cable, keeping it center of gravity aligned, which makes it lighter and faster for lower load capacities up to 150 kg.

05 What does a handling solution cost?

Depending on the payload capacity, device, and level of automation, a typical solution costs between €8,000 and €80,000. You can find the exact calculation and amortization analysis in the article "What does a manipulator cost?"

06 Can several model series be combined or retrofitted during ongoing operation?

Yes. Since devices are individually designed, series can be expanded as requirements grow or retrofitted with new devices to match the existing control system.

07 Where can I find the legal basis for manual handling of loads?

We explain the Load Handling Ordinance and the BAuA's key indicator method in detail in the guide "Lifting Aids" , chapter 03.

08 What distinguishes Zeilhofer from other providers?

Zeilhofer has been manufacturing special-purpose machines since 1999, covering the entire load range from 55 to 1,200 kg with 13 product lines from a single source. Each device is designed as a custom-built unit, certified according to ISO 9001 and TISAX Level 2.
