Lifting Axis ZH90 with gripper for HV battery
FUNCTION AND BENEFITS
WHAT A LIFTING AID CAN DO, AND WHY IT PAYS OFF
Lifting aids, manipulators, and lifting axes from Zeilhofer Handling Technology guide loads without pendulum motion via a rigid mechanism. This page explains how the individual systems work and what specific benefits they offer in operation.
THE BENEFITS AT A GLANCE
FOUR REASONS FOR A LIFTING AID
Regardless of the specific system, a Zeilhofer lifting aid brings four key advantages to production.
01 ERONOMY
Loads are moved almost weightlessly. This reduces physical strain on employees and lowers work-related absences.
02 Security
The rigid, pendulum-free load guidance prevents oscillation. Hot, sharp-edged, or heavy parts are handled in a controlled manner.
03 Productivity
Faster, more precise handling than with manual work. Higher cycle reliability and consistent quality.
04 Economic efficiency
Fewer sick days, fewer product defects, higher throughput. The investment pays for itself through reduced process costs.
THE SYSTEMS IN DETAIL
FUNCTION AND BENEFITS OF EACH SYSTEM
Each Zeilhofer system is optimized for a specific type of handling. Here's how it works and its respective benefits.
LINEAR LIFT SYSTEM
Lifting Axis ZH90
The ZH90 lifting axis is a linear motion unit that precisely raises and lowers loads vertically. It guides the load without pendulum movement via a rigid mechanism and, as a modular system, can be used manually, collaboratively, or fully automatically.
-
Load capacity up to 1,200 kg, working stroke 1,600 mm, expandable
-
Precise lifting movement with exact positioning over the entire lifting range
-
Off-center loads are absorbed stably and without play.
-
Low maintenance thanks to robust guides and bearings
-
Compact installation space, vertical movement without requiring horizontal space

Rigid load guide manipulator
JOINT ARM MANIPULATOR
The articulated arm manipulator moves, positions, and handles loads via arms and joints, eliminating the need for the operator to directly carry the load. Its arm covers a large working area from a fixed position.
Load capacity up to 800 kg, working radius up to 4.5 m
Ergonomic working conditions, even when working overhead or in hard-to-reach places
Sensitive positioning for assembly and parts insertion
Four mounting options: floor- and ceiling-mounted as well as mobile.
Can be combined with lifting axes, rotary modules and swivel arms .

Rope-guided lifting aid
ROPE MANIPULATOR
The cable manipulator uses two wire ropes to lift and guide the load. This hand-operated system allows for fast, smooth, and precise movement of components. Available as the Acer (up to 150 kg) and the ZH70 (up to 70 kg).
Load capacity Acer up to 150 kg, ZH70 up to 70 kg
Easy handling; the load feels almost weightless due to weight compensation.
Intuitive operation, hand-guided with natural movement
Double rope technology with redundant, safe load guidance
Gentle on load-bearing structures, as the load acts in a straight direction of pull.

MOBILE LIFT
Mobile Lift ZH
The ZH lifting platform is a mobile, battery-powered floor trolley for lifting, transporting, and positioning loads. It is freely movable within the room and requires neither a rail system nor an overhead crane.
-
Load capacity up to 100 kg, freely movable via Omniwheel chassis
-
48-volt battery, completely wireless and without compressed air
-
Location-independent, usable in multiple departments and halls
-
No installation, no foundation, ready to use immediately.
-
Can be combined with grippers, suction cups and tool holders

FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
01 What is the difference between a lifting axis and a manipulator?
A lifting axis moves the load linearly in the vertical direction, i.e., precisely up and down. A manipulator moves the load via arms and joints in multiple axes, thus covering a larger working range. Both guide the load without pendulum motion using a rigid mechanism.
02 When does a lifting aid become economically worthwhile?
A lifting aid is worthwhile if loads are regularly lifted manually. It reduces physical strain and downtime, increases cycle time and process reliability. The investment typically pays for itself through reduced sick days and higher productivity.
03 Which lifting aid is suitable for my application?
This depends on the load, type of movement, and mobility. The ZH90 lifting axis is suitable for precise vertical lifting up to 1,200 kg, the articulated arm manipulator for large working radii up to 800 kg, the rope manipulator for fast handling up to 150 kg, and the ZH lifting platform for mobile use up to 100 kg.
